Bay Team Membership and Benefits

What are we? - Who are we? - Why do we exist? - Who should join? - What are some club benefits? - What should you do next? - Membership applications and renewal forms

What are we?

The Bay Team's goals are to promote the sport of dog agility and to provide USDAA and NADAC agility trials.

We are the only USDAA and NADAC dog agility club in the Bay Area (next nearest are in Sonora and Fresno). We put on some of the biggest USDAA/NADAC events in the country, occasionally do demos and workshops, host seminars, and generally serve as a local resource for spreading the word about the wonderful sport of agility.

Who are we?

Our present membership spans Martinez to Salinas, Palo Alto to Livermore, and even beyond. Our dogs are beginners and winners of national agility tournaments, AKC and All-American, family friends and show dogs. Our humans are teenagers and grandparents, trainers and students. Our common passion is enjoying our partnership with our dogs.

Why do we exist?

USDAA and NADAC allow mixed- breed dogs as well as purebreds to compete; without the work of Bay Team members, there would be no USDAA or NADAC agility in the Bay Area. (One trial a year south of Hollister...that would be it.) We exist to make agility trials available within driving distance for Bay Area members, and to make local agility a reality for all dogs, not just for those in limited breed registries.

Ask not what our agility club can do for you--ask whether you'd like agility in the Bay Area to continue being available.

Who should join?

Which of the following apply to you?

  • I love agility.
  • I want to participate in shaping the nature of the sport here in the west.
  • I want to know what fun (seriously!) it is to help organize an event.
  • I'd like to help ensure that NADAC and USDAA agility remains available in the Bay Area.
  • I have ideas that I want to share on how to improve Bay Team events.
  • I like earning team shirts, seminars, and other member benefits.
  • I'd enjoy helping to set up for occasional free agility practices.
  • I'd enjoy team dinners and parties.
  • I have an idea for what else the club can do for its membership or for the sport of agility.
  • All my friends are members.
  • All my dog's friends are members.
  • I'm already working my buns off at Bay Team events and want to be on the inside.
  • I can tow an equipment trailer.
  • Cal State Hayward is the center of my universe (well--at least on weekends when there's an agility trial there!)

If you checked one or more of the boxes above, you're a perfect candidate for The Bay Team!

What are some Club Benefits?

  • You can earn discounted entries into Bay Team events
  • You get shirts, seminars, and other member benefits
  • You can borrow books, magazines, or videos from the Club's extensive agility library
  • You can participate in free practices before or after occasional Club meetings
  • You can attend Club dinners and parties
  • (Also see the official list of policies, rules, fees, & benefits in PDF)

What should you do next?
